Executive Director, reservoir-completion-production optimization expert, +50 years in oil & gas operators and services companies. Main achievements: Integrated field study and implementation: 2.5x oil production; gas-condensate giant field development plan; water injection pilot in deep-HP reservoirs; development of fiber optics data analysis; successful design and construction first unconventional wells in Mexico. BS in Geology, SPE member, US patents and innovation awards. 

The first 20 years he worked for Petroperú as well-site geologist, production  geologist, subsurface geologist, well-log analyst, completion & reservoir  engineer, multidisciplinary team leader and project leader, in exploration  and exploitation projects of oil & gas-condensate reservoirs, carrying out  reservoir characterization, well-log & well-test analysis, reserves estimates,  numerical reservoir simulation, water control, stimulation, secondary  recovery studies and supervision of drilling & workover programs.  

The next 28 years Mr. Sierra worked for Halliburton with a 2-year term in WellDynamics, holding  several technical positions in Venezuela, Latin America, USA, Mexico and worldwide, primarily  engaged with introduction and transfer of new technologies in: well evaluation, well completion,  production enhancement, secondary and enhanced recovery, well stimulation, water conformance,  reservoir monitoring, mature fields and unconventional shale & tight stimulation.  

He has led/involved in several projects in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, USA,  Thailand and Venezuela. He has developed special software and procedures to design and analyze  well-logs, well-tests, stimulation jobs, fiber optics data and unconventional wells. 

Mr. Sierra has  designed, organized and conducted workshops, courses and seminars in several countries for oil & gas  companies and Halliburton on: Well Logging, Well Testing, Conformance Technology, Hydraulic  Fracturing, Stimulation, Reservoir Monitoring and Unconventional Wells.   

Mr. Sierra received his BS degree in Geology from the University of San Agustin, Arequipa, Peru in  1972 and carried out post-graduate studies under the USAID-IIE-PTRI Conventional Energy Program  at University of Tulsa, OK in 1986.  He is member of SPE, AAPG and SPWLA and has written several  SPE papers and publications. He holds several patents on reservoir monitoring, well testing and  stimulation, and has received the Hart’s E&P 2006 award for Engineering Innovation (StimWatch)  and MVP in 2015 in Halliburton Mexico.

Senior Exploration and Development Geologist

Experienced oil and gas geoscientist with over 45 years in the industry. He has held various roles, including wellsite geologist, field geologist, sedimentologist, sedimentary petrographer, development and exploration geologist, team leader, and technical advisor. His career spans prominent companies such as Petroperu, Petrotech Peruana, Perez Companc, Petrobras Energia, GX Technology, and Chevron.

He excels in managing and guiding multidisciplinary exploration and development teams, achieving successful project outcomes across the Northwest Shelf of Australia, offshore New Zealand, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru. He has a strong background in reservoir characterization for exploration and development, as well as production optimization. He has successfully led teams in projects involving reservoir simulation, basin analysis, and the application of sequence stratigraphy and seismic geomorphology methods.

Key achievements include:

1. Increased Oil Production: Led the Geoscientists Team for the  Corrientes Field Simulation Project, where the subsequent workover and      drilling program boosted production by 2.5 times within a year.

2. Exploration Success: Matured exploration prospects and led  drilling plans for the Pinhoe and Paita gas field discoveries in the  Carnarvon and Talara basins, offshore the Northwest Shelf of Australia and  Peru.

3. Strategic Impact: Impacted the company's exploration and      development strategies in the offshore Talara Basin by demonstrating that      the main reservoir targets were deposited in deep marine settings,      overturning the conventional belief that they were accumulated in fluvial      or shallow marine environments.

4. Production Optimization: Conducted Cretaceous Hollin reservoir  characterization, leading to the drilling of the highest-producing well in      the Palo Azul Field, Oriente Basin, Ecuador, and discovered a relationship      between the cementation index and seismic amplitude in the Queen City  tight-gas-prone sandstones, leading to the highest-producing well in  Cuervito Norte Field, Burgos Basin, onshore Gulf of Mexico.

5. Past Savings: Developed a navigation data correction methodology for 2D seismic surveys, saving tens of millions of dollars in the Oritupano Block, Eastern Venezuela.

6. Increased Reserves: Increased reserves in the mature Acema area of Eastern Venezuela 15% by discovering a combined  stratigraphic-structural trapping system using high-frequency seismic  data.

7. Resource Estimation: Enhanced the resource estimation of the  Groningen Deep prospect on the Northwest Shelf of Australia fivefold  through reservoir connectivity analysis.

8. Portfolio Expansion: Expanded Chevron's portfolio in the      Pegasus Basin, offshore New Zealand, by five times.

Mr. Azálgara holds a BS degree in Geology from the University of San Agustin, Arequipa, Peru, and an MA in Geology from Rice University, Houston, Texas. He has authored or co-authored over 20 publications, presented at numerous professional conferences, and received Chevron’s Australian Business Unit Excellence Award for the discovery of the Pinhoe Gas Field.

Senior Development Geophysicist and Earth Scientist Consultant with 20 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry, specializing in Development Geophysics, Integrated Reservoir Characterization, Reservoir Properties from Seismic, 3D Static Reservoir Modelling, and Reservoir Connectivity Analysis. Throughout her career, mostly at Chevron Corporation, she held positions in Venezuela, the U.S.A., and Australia.

- Geophysical planning of six out of the first eight Gorgon Development Wells by collaborating with an expert in Structural Geology and Reservoir Characterization. The Gorgon Field is the largest single resource project in Australia's history and one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects. 

- Conducting Reservoir Connectivity Analysis and Proximity-to-Water Risk Evaluation for the Wheatstone-Iago Fields in Australia. A world-renowned expert in Reservoir Connectivity and Fault Seal mentored and worked with Carolina on this project. This analysis supported perforation decisions for deep exploration leads and received an "Ovation Award" from Chevron management.

- Performing High-Resolution Sequence Stratigraphic Interpretation (integrating well, core, and 3D seismic) along with the Geophysical Well Planning and Follow-Up during the successful drilling of several Vertical, Slant, and Horizontal Development Wells in the Oritupano-Leona Field, Eastern Venezuelan Basin.

Carolina holds a Master of Science in Geology from Texas A&M University with a perfect Grade Point Ratio of 4.0 and a Bachelor's degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela, where she graduated as the top-ranked student in her class. She has been a member of various professional associations and has co-authored several technical papers.

Senior petroleum engineer with over 40 years of experience in reservoir, production, well testing, and field management. He has worked for major oil companies in South America including Occidental Petroleum, Petroperú, Schlumberger, Halliburton, BPZ E&P, and Pluspetrol Norte.

 Has a patent for a guidance tool for “coiled tubing drilling” and another for a cementing tool for effective well abandonment. Charles has extensive experience in directional drilling techniques. He specializes in wellbore placement and trajectory optimization. 

His expertise includes both conventional and advanced directional drilling methods. Has numerous publications in Schlumberger, SPE, and IADC.

“MC Square” Project: was a significant initiative in the oil and gas industry. It aimed to improve drilling efficiency and reduce costs by optimizing well placement.

Navigation System Governed from the Bit: developing a navigation system that could be controlled directly from the drill bit. This innovative approach allowed real-time adjustments to wellbore direction during drilling.

Patent: Charles holds two patents for the following applications:

Guidance Tool for Coiled Tubing Drilling: Coiled tubing drilling is a specialized technique used for re-entry wells or sidetracks. Charles Ingold designed a guidance tool specifically for this purpose.

Cementing Tool for Effective Well Abandonment: Proper well abandonment is crucial for environmental safety. Charles Ingold developed a cementing tool to ensure effective well-plugging and abandonment.

 More than 35 years of successful experience as geosciences manager, exploration and production geology manager. Proven track record in oil reserves addition and prospect generation on Peruvian Continental shelf (Block Z-2B, Z-6 and several others), giant Caño Limon field (Colombia), Block 1-AB (Perú), Vanyogan field (Rusia), Block DZO (Venezuela), Block 7559 and Estancia Vieja (Argentina). EOR evaluations in Ecuador, Argentina, India, Bangladesh and Qatar.

Ability to plan, conduct and manage field development and recommend exploratory wells. Solid knowledge of Exploration and Production Geology methods, including subsurface mapping, structural and stratigraphic cross-sections, core descriptions, depositional environment analysis, reservoir continuity evaluation. Project evaluation, Risk Analysis, OOIP and Reserves estimates for field development and EOR projects.

Capability to generate and recommend exploratory and development drilling locations, geological well programs and workover recommendations. Ability to manage drilling wells geological operations and recommend well completions.
